I am handing out little pieces,
But they are flying everywhere,
They have not yet a place to dwell,
Nor any thing to share.
I am handing out little pieces,
I’m emptying up my bag,
Too soon, too quick, too many,
And that’s my little snag.
I am handing out little pieces,
No one seems to grab,
They float away into oblivion,
Where all is dark and drab.
I am handing out little pieces,
Pretty soon I’ll be bare,
And I will have none more to give,
I will just sit and stare.
I am handing out little pieces,
But they are flying everywhere,
My heart can take no more,
The tug, the cut, the tear.
